CLEARLAKE PARK — Quick response led to quick containment Wednesday morning, ultimately saving a home from fire in Holiday Island Mobile Home Park in the Gooseneck area of Clearlake Park. The fire appears to have ignited within the water-heating unit and spread to attic area of the trailer.

No residents were home at the time of the blaze.

Lake County Fire Protection District (LCFPD) Chief Willie Sapeta said that the residence to the right of the fire”s location was evacuated. The evacuee, who was experiencing difficulty breathing, was treated and released at the scene.

LCFPD was dispatched and en route at 9:57 a.m. arriving on scene at 10:00 a.m. Sapeta said the fire was considered contained at 10:23. Units were back in quarters by 11:30 a.m.

LCPFD responded with its chief, a battalion chief, two engines, a rescue unit, two medical units and 10 personnel. Northshore Fire Protection District provided mutual aid.
