The drive along Highway 20 from the Oaks to Lucerne has always been an enjoyment of living here at the lake, with the beauty of the lake, during the morning and late sunset hours being the best, and with Mount Konocti, Buckingham and Soda Bay for its background.

It seems strange that, unlike other areas of California that offer views of their scenic beauty, the county has not built scenic lookouts that folks can safely pull into to take in the views and snap memorable photos of what lays before them.

Tourism is a source of income for the county and such lookouts, would certainly be used by both new and old visitors to the lake.

The addition of historical or informational signage would also be welcome at such view points.

The same goes for the rock wall that runs along the lakeside. It needs to be repaired in some places, and additional lengths need to be added along some areas of the shoreline.

A few well placed weeping willows along the shoreline would add more beauty than the over abundant Cottonwoods now dominating the shoreline.

Investment in such a project would seem to have few, if any, negatives, and not be such a costly project to implement.
