LAKE COUNTY — Lake County Farm Bureau (LCFB) is offering scholarships to students with a desire to pursue a career in the agricultural industry. The scholarships are awarded annually.
The Lake County Farm Bureau Board of Directors determines the award amounts depending on the qualifications of the applicants and the funds available.
In the past, LCFB has given as much as $1,000 to as many as three recipients. The scholarships are awarded based upon academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities, determination, leadership skills and a commitment to study agriculture.
The scholarship is for any student entering or attending an accredited junior college, four-year college or university and pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. Students entering or attending a vocational school are eligible.
Students must be current residents of Lake County and plan to enroll in college or vocational school during the 2012-13 academic year.
The application must include all current and official high school transcripts, all college or vocational school transcripts and three current and dated letters of recommendation.
Applications are available through high school counselors, the LCFB website at www.lakecofb.com or from the office at 65 Soda Bay Road in Lakeport. All applications must be postmarked by April 30. For more information, call 263-0911.
