Good sports, bad sports
HITS
– To San Francisco”s Barry Zito for pitching a four-hit shutout against the Colorado Rockies on Monday. It was probably Zito”s best effort during a forgettable stay with the Giants.
– To NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for refusing to reduce the punishment meted out to the New Orleans Saints for their headhunting ways of opposing players the last few seasons.
-To Lower Lake pitcher Zef Roofener, who came within two outs of throwing a no-hitter against the Willits Wolverines in a 10-0 Lower Lake victory on Monday.
– To KNBR 680 radio host Ralph Barbieri, who was let go by the station he”s been with since 1984 on Wednesday afternoon. Management didn”t say why Barbieri, better known as “The Razor,” was let go.
– To Lakeport resident Julie Kelley, who will be competing in the 117th Boston Marathon on Monday.
MISSES
– To former Arkansas football head coach Bobby Petrino. His list of misdeeds would require more space than we have room for.
– To the Golden State Warriors for another season of downright bad basketball.
