CLOVERDALE — Middletown didn”t drop a set while beating Cloverdale 5-0 in Coastal Mountain Conference tennis action Monday in Cloverdale.

The Mustangs improved to 4-2 in the CMC standings with two matches remaining.

Middletown winners in singles were Cody Astley, 6-2, 6-4, over Sal Mendoza in first singles; Gerry Espinoza, 7-6, (7-4), 6-3, over Jose Torres in second singles; and Jeremy Turner, 6-1, 6-3, over Ben Natividad in third singles.

In first doubles action, Nika Gibbs and Oscar Rincon were 6-3, 6-0 winners over Hannah Pope and Alexis Hernandez. In second doubles, it was Madi Kucer and Chris King beating Aidan Reynolds and Jose Lopez 6-1, 6-0.

Middletown also won in a single-set exhibition doubles match as Arianna Diaz and Gerardo Gonzalez prevailed 7-6 (7-5).
