LAKEPORT — City police arrested a woman early Sunday morning for allegedly being under the influence when she hit a male pedestrian with her car and possibly drove over his leg.
The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) received a report about the incident at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Sgt. Kevin Odom said.
Valerie Ann Stark, 29, of Lakeport was reportedly driving a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville in the 2600 block of Linda Lane at the time.
The police report indicates the car knocked down a 30-year-old Lakeport man and may have then run over his leg, Odom said.
“It appears to be unintentional,” he added.
The injuries were not considered life threatening.
Stark was arrested and booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) causing bodily injury.
The investigation has been forwarded to the Lake County District Attorney”s Office, Odom said.
