LAKEPORT — The Andre Williams Trio will perform at 7 p.m. Friday in the Soper-Reese Community Theatre”s Third Friday Live series.
Williams” performance will incorporate classic songs of the ”40s, ”50s and ”60s, including songs made famous by Louis Armstrong, Sammy Davis Jr. and Nat King Cole. Wiliams has been the lead vocalist and toured the world with MC Hammer since 1991.
Joining Williams in his trio are Jack Tatum of Clearlake on saxophone. Tatum has played with Jimmy Dorsey, Gene Krupa, Mel Torme, the Ames Brothers and Steve Lawrence.
Williams and Tatum are joined by pianist John Wilder and drummer Peter Philis from the Sacramento area.
Wilder has been performing professionally throughout the United States since 1968 and has performed with The Shirelles, The Ink Spots and The Lettermen.
Opening performer will be Lake County singer/songwriter Andy Kong, who will return to the Soper-Reese after his tour of the northwest.
All tickets cost $10 and are available at The Travel Center in the Shoreline Shopping Center, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; at the theaterbox office on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and two hours before show time on the day of all events.
