CLEARLAKE — Sentencing for a Clearlake man, who pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter earlier this year in connection with his father”s 2007 stabbing death, was postponed this week and moved to June.

Justin Robert Medvin, 27, had been charged with murder but pleaded to the lesser felony count on Jan. 17.

Officers arrested Medvin on Memorial Day 2007 after reportedly finding the man”s father, Steven Medvin, dead with multiple stab wounds.

Medvin, who remains in custody at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, was scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, but the court instead considered a defense motion for a continuance, attorneys on both sides said.

Thomas Quinn, who represents Medvin, said he wanted more time to gather and submit input from his client”s family members and other materials before sentencing occurs.

The motion was unopposed, according to prosecutor Susan Krones.

The sentencing hearing was rescheduled for June 5 in Department 4 in Clearlake, according to court records.
