LAKEPORT — Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) personnel are searching for a jail inmate who “walked away from custody” while on a work detail Monday morning, a department spokesman said.
Roger Daniel Vigil, 49, of Clearlake was assigned to minimum custody and working on the grounds outside of the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility when he left the area at about 9 a.m. Monday, according to Sgt. John Gregore.
LCSO deputies, detectives and a K-9 team are among those currently looking for Vigil, the sergeant said.
Vigil is described as a Hispanic man standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds and having a shaved head with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue county jail shirt and blue jeans.
Vigil has a series of tattoos: one of Mickey Mouse on his left arm, one of Jesus on his right arm, one of a peacock on his back and another of a peacock on his right arm.
