Robby Alan Beasley, 31, appeared before Judge Robert L. Crone Jr. on Monday at the Lake County Courthouse.
Beasley has pleaded not guilty to three felonies, including two murder counts, in connection with the deaths of Maine couple Frank and Yvette Maddox, whose bodies were found in Lower Lake in March 2010.
The case was set for a pretrial conference Monday afternoon, but defense counsel Stephen Carter asked the judge to reschedule the meeting for May 7.
Art Grothe, who is prosecuting the case, was absent from the court appearance.
Crone set the conference for May 7 at 2:30 p.m. The judge also indicated that a defense request to continue the jury trial, which is scheduled for mid-May, would be addressed on May 7.
