LOWER LAKE — Jim Jonas of Jonas Oil and Ken Foster of Eel River Fuels announced the consolidation of their companies.
Eel River Fuels planned to acquire the assets of Jonas Oil on Friday. Letters from both companies have been sent to current customers making the announcement. Jim Jonas will remain with the company as a consultant along with current key employees.
The business office will continue to be maintained on Main Street in Lower Lake.
Jonas Heating and Cooling, also known as Jonas Energy Solutions of Lake and El Dorado counties will not be affected by this merger.
Jonas Oil began operations in 1947 and has been a family run business since then.
Eel River Fuels, also known as ER Energy, based in Ukiah, has been in operation since 1982. Ken Foster, Roger Webb and their families said they are excited about the expansion of their services and deliveries of refined fuels, heating oil, 76 lubricants and commercial and residential propane.
Eel River Fuels also has fuel facilities in Willows, Redding, Lakeport and Ukiah.
