LAKEPORT — The Lake County Energy Watch (LCEW), a partnership between the County of Lake and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), has established a tool lending library to assist residents of Lake County in being aware of their energy consumption.
The LCEW tool lending library is located in the Lake County Community Development Department, on the third floor of the Lake County Courthouse, located at 255 N. Forbes St. in Lakeport.
The first tool the lending library is offering is the Kill A Watt EZ, manufactured by P3 International. This tool measures the energy consumption of any electronic device or appliance that can plug into a standard three-prong, 120-volt electrical outlet.
The Kill A Watt EZ allows the user to program in his or her local utility rate and display projected energy costs by hour, day, week, month, or year. The Kill A Watt EZ may initially be checked out for a period of two weeks and time extensions may be arranged depending on availability. Call 263-2221 and ask for Brian Horn, or email energy@co.lake.ca.us for details on reserving a Kill A Watt.
