LUCERNE — North Lake Garden Club (NLGC) youth member Sarah Marsh won an award for her recycle with a purpose sculpture. The J-14 youth contest was sponsored by the National and California garden clubs with Don and Sharon Smith.
As her year project, the President of NLGC, Kimberly Marsh presented several trees to Lake County Hospice Care Givers on Saturday in Library Park.
The Chinese Pistasche trees were donated by Glen Bauer. Members have been transplanting and keeping the 450 seedlings at their homes.
At the March meeting, speaker Mary Lou Goodwin, past president of California Garden Clubs, had attendees designing floral displays of seasonal flowers and greenery to take home.
The club will have a plant and seed exchange today as well as talk about a wildflower planting project in its community.
The club meeting is at Lucerne Community Church. It will start at 6:30 p.m. with sharing plants and refreshments. The meeting and workshop will follow. To check other activities coming up, visit the club”s Facebook page at North Lake Garden Club.
The club is a member of California Garden Clubs,Inc, National Garden Clubs, Inc. and Mendo-Lake District with meetings held on the fourth Tuesday, September through May.
