LAKEPORT — Lakeside Family Fun & Event Center held its first middle school basketball tournament on Sunday in Lakeport. Teams from throughout the county took part while competing for trophies, medallions and, of course, bragging rights.
Team Thunderbirds from Middletown claimed the championship led by Jordan Brookshire, Garret Chernoh, Marlon Jones and Kyle Ellis. They received medallions and their team trophy will be displayed, along with their photo, inside of the Sports Arena for all to see.
Sign-ups for the next tourney, which will be contested May 20 beginning at noon, are under way at Lakeside Family Fun & Event Center, 872 Lakeport Blvd., in Lakeport.
