MIDDLETOWN — Two Middletown records fell and another was tied on Monday as the Mustangs hosted the first track meet in school history, beating Willits handily in the varsity boys” and girls” divisions.

Upper Lake, Rio Lindo and Rincon Valley Christian also participated.

Nick Santos ran 2 minutes, 12.21 seconds in the 800-meter run to beat the old Middletown record of 2:13.64 set by Russell Rosenthal. Nick Dellia also beat his own record in the shotput with a winning toss of 42 feet, 9 1/2 inches. It”s the third time this season he”s better his own mark, according to Middletown coach Louise Owens.

In the varsity girls” division, Middletown”s Ambor Ramponi cleared 4-10 in the high jump to equal the school record of Alexis Valdovinos.

Middletown”s varsity boys dominated Willits 114-11 in head-to-head scoring while the Middletown girls were 88-22 winners over the Wolverines.

Varsity boys

Santos won the 800, 3,200 (12:11.08) and high jump (5-2) for Middletown. Double-event winners were Dellia in the shotput and discus (127-10 1/2) and Barrett Southern in the 110 hurdles (17.84) and 300 hurdles (45.55). Other Middletown winners were Tanner Alves in the long jump 20-1 1/2), Austin Benson in the triple jump (40-6) and Anthonie Guzman in the 400 (58.34).

Middletown”s 4×100 relay team of Alves, Guzman, Victor Montanez and Matt Hennion won in 48.43, and the school”s 4×400 relay team of Alves, Southern, Jared Carrillo and Jaime Gutierrez won in 4:03.90.

Varsity girls

Amber Hart won the 110 hurdles (17.90) and the 300 hurdles (53.30) for the Middletown girls. Other Middletown winners were Bri Nelson in the 800 (2:55.87), Ramponi in the high jump and Emily Reed in the triple jump (30-1).

Middletown picked up firsts in both relay events as well. In the 4×100 it was Ramponi, Hart, Kelly Wilkinson and Aly Mino winning in 57.9, and in the 4×400 it was Reed, Mino, Ramponi and Rose Lynch winning in 5:22.18.

Middletown hosts St. Helena, Fort Bragg, Calistoga and Anderson Valley on Wednesday.
