LAKEPORT — City police received a report about a man exposing himself to a woman Wednesday morning, an incident officers suspect was related to an alleged indecent exposure on Tuesday.
The woman reported Wednesday”s incident at about 10:50 a.m. and said it occurred near the intersection of South Main Street and Lakeport Boulevard, according to a statement from Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen.
The woman said that just before incident, she drove into the city from North Lakeport and noticed a blue, newer-model Chevrolet Impala with an air fin on the trunk driving behind her, according to Rasmussen.
When she reached the intersection, the Impala pulled up to the left side of her vehicle and she heard a honking horn coming from that direction, Rasmussen stated.
The woman looked to the left side and “saw the driver of the Impala masturbating while looking directly at her,” Rasmussen stated.
The unknown driver was described as a white man, 30 to 35 years old and thinly built, wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Rasmussen stated the description “has similarities” to the one that officers received about a man who was allegedly seen masturbating while following a female jogger in the city near Second and North Tunis streets early Tuesday morning.
Police believe the two incidents were related, according to Rasmussen.
The Lakeport Police Department urges anyone with information to call 263-5491 as soon as possible. This investigation is ongoing, with officers currently following up on leads.
