CLEARLAKE OAKS — The Clearlake Oaks/Glenhaven Business Association is sponsoring the 29th Annual Catfish Derby from noon May 18 through noon May 20.
Known by many as “The biggest catfish tournament west of the Mississippi,” the event features an adult division and a kids division for those younger than 16.
The grand prize winner in the adult division will receive a cash prize of $4,000 (based on minimum of 350 adult entries), while the winner in the kids division will receive a Nintendo Wii System. In addition, each child entrant will receive a commemorative T-shirt.
Derby headquarters is located at the Clearlake Oaks Fire Station, 12655 East Highway 20, and will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Derby headquarters also will be open for pre-registration from noon to 11 p.m. on May 17. No registrations will be accepted after 11 p.m. on May 18.
Registration for the adult division is $45 ($40 for those who pre-register by May 17). Registration for the kids division is $10.
