Six incredibly talented and enthusiastic musicians ? Spencer Brewer, Elena Casanova and Elizabeth MacDougall from Mendocino County, and Tom Aiken, Tom Ganoung and David Neft from Lake County ? performed in the critically acclaimed Professional Pianists Concert at the Soper Reese Community Theatre. The Soper Reese and the Lake County Friends of Mendocino College partnered to bring this high quality program to a delighted audience.

Thank you to young Hana Consterdine, a student of Tom Ganoung, who opened the show for the professionals who played music ranging from Beethoven and Bach to jazz and Cuban, adding show tunes and movie themes with variations and improvisations, including their own compositions. These same pianists have been engaged for the next Professional Pianists Concert at the Soper Reese on March 9, 2013, when the LCFMC and the SRCT will join to present another benefit concert.

We are grateful to the generous sponsors who recognized the partnership opportunity that this concert provided to support the arts and education in Lake County: Mendo Lake Credit Union, Lakeport Furniture, Bruno”s Property Management, Peggy Campbell, CPA, Lincoln-Leavitt Insurance Agency, Cameron and Sharon Reeves, Cliff and Nancy Ruzicka, Savings Bank of Mendocino County, Strong Financial Network, John Tomkins Tax Consultants, Wildhurst Vineyards, Pat and Lori McGuire, and Jim and Wilda Shock.

Thank you to the donors for the silent auction: Gail Salituri, Judy Conard, Lake Family Resource Center, Polestar Computers, Mendocino College Foundation, Chacewater Wine Company and Olive Mill, Peggy Campbell, Wilda Shock, Tallman Hotel, The Salon at High Street Village, Nancy Rhoades, and Shelby Posada.

Proceeds from ticket sales, the silent auction, the sponsorships, and sales of Lake County wines, and the refreshment concessions resulted in proceeds exceeding the expectations of both organizations. Thank you to our entire community for recognizing the value and importance of supporting our institutions and our partnership. Our next joint endeavor will be presenting two benefit concerts on July 5 and 6 featuring the band Reunion. Find the details at www.soperreesetheatre.com and plan to attend.
