LAKEPORT — Jimmy Reese of Witter Springs maintained his lead in the pro division after the second round of the FLW Outdoors Clear Lake Pro-Am bass tournament on Friday.

Reese brought 26 pounds, 3 ounces to the scales in round two of the three-day tournament to keep his spot atop the leaderboard with a two-day weight of 52-14. He said that he caught most of his fish by sight fishing in the north end of the lake.

Only the top 10 pros and top 10 amateurs advance to the final round. They carry their weights from the first two rounds into today”s competition.

In second place in the pro division is Mark Casey of Fairfield at 48-12. He”s followed by Kelseyville angler Wayne Breazeale in third place at 48-2. Troy Lindner of Los Anglers is fourth at 48-1 and Mark Crutcher of Lakeport is fifth at 47-13 (see Page A9 for the top 10 in the pro and amateur divisions).

The leading amateur after the second round is Gary Morris of Tracy at 43-8.

The winning pro could win as much as $70,000 in cash and prizes and the winning amatuer could win as much as $30,000. The pros paid an entry fee of $1,000 and the co-anglers $400.

Today”s weigh-in starts at 3 p.m. at Konocti Vista Casino and Resort in Lake-port.
