LAKEPORT — The lawyer for Friends of Cobb Mountain told a judge Monday the parties in the lawsuit regarding Bottle Rock Power expansion “believe we have a settlement.”
Attorney Donald Mooney, speaking to the court by telephone, said the deal awaits only the approval of the Lake County Board of Supervisors (BOS). Judge Robert L. Crone Jr. presided over the case management conference Monday afternoon at the Lake County Courthouse.
Friends of Cobb Mountain petitioned the court last May to reverse decisions made by the BOS regarding the expansion project.
The petition lists the county of Lake and the BOS as respondents. Bottle Rock Power, LLC is a “real party in interest.”
The company proposed to add new geothermal well pads, production and injection wells, and pipelines on land near its already operating power plant and well pads in Cobb.
The Lake County Supervisors are set to discuss the case in closed session Tuesday, according to the agenda for the BOS regular meeting.
Mooney said if the county endorsed the agreement, the petitioner would file a request for dismissal with the court as part of the settlement.
