LAKEPORT — A judge Monday scheduled a June trial date for a Kelseyville man accused of causing a fatal car crash in Lakeport nearly three years ago.
Alejandro Aurelio Arias, 30, faces four felonies, including second-degree murder, after authorities allege he sped through a red light at the intersection of highways 29 and 175 in Lakeport and hit another car, killing its driver, on Sept. 11, 2009. Charlane Hill, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arias pleaded not guilty to the felony counts and denied all special allegations in the case.
He appeared before Judge Andrew S. Blum Monday morning at the Lake County Courthouse for trial scheduling.
Blum set the jury trial to begin on June 6.
Arias, who remains in custody at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, will next appear in court on May 21 for pretrial proceedings.
