LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Sheriff”s Office continues to search for an inmate who walked away from a work detail last week, a department spokesman said Tuesday.
“We are currently looking for him and are following up on all leads,” Sgt. Steve Brooks said.
The department announced on April 23 that Roger Daniel Vigil, 49, of Clearlake was assigned to minimum custody and working on the grounds outside of the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility when he left the area that morning.
Vigil is described as a Hispanic man standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds and having a shaved head with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue county jail shirt and blue jeans.
Vigil has a number of tattoos, including one of Mickey Mouse on his left arm, one of Jesus on his right arm, one of a peacock on his back and another of a peacock on his right arm.
The department welcomes any information about Vigil”s whereabouts, Brooks said.
