LAKEPORT ? Andy Kong will be opening for the Soper Reese Community Theater”s “Reunion” show on July 5 and 6 with former members of the Lettermen.
Kong started playing instruments almost as soon as he could walk. He was an honor student at Ukiah High School and attended UC Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.
After graduation, he chose to take some time and try his hand at music, which he described as his lifelong avocation. Kong has been performing regularly at Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco and at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.
This last year Kong performed for the first time at the Soper Reese. According to Mike Adams, Kong wowed the audience with his original songs, engaging stories and mature stage presence beyond his age.
