LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Milers are hosting the Spring has Sprung Run on May 20 beginning at 8 a.m. at Coyote Valley Elementary School, 18950 Coyote Valley Road, in Hidden Valley Lake.
Races include a challenging 10K run and a flat 5K run/walk, plus 1/2K and 1K runs for children. Every child who crosses the finish line gets a coupon for a Big Chill frozen yogurt courtesy of the Milers.
Prizes will be awarded to the top runners in the 5K and 10K races. Medals will be awarded down to three places in age and gender divisions, including the kids” divisions.
The overall top male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K runs receive certificates good for a one-night stay, plus a $50 dining credit, to Twin Pine Casino and Hotel in Middletown. There will also be commemorative photo awards and gift certificates to the top three overall finishers (male and females) in the 5K and 10K runs.
All participants in the 5K and 10K get a souvenir shirt along with a gift bag and raffle entry.
Entry fees are $30 for adults and $20 for runners ages 19 and younger in the 5K/10K runs until Thursday. After Thursday, the adult fee is $35. The fee for kids who enter the 1/2K or 1K is $5 at any time. Milers club members get $3 off any 5K/10K entry.
A large portion of this year”s net proceeds benefit team sports for two local high schools.
