LOWER LAKE –Victor Perez pitched four innings of shutout relief on Wednesday as the Kelseyville Knights beat the Lower Lake Trojans 4-2 in a North Central League I junior varsity baseball game at Lower Lake.

Perez entered the game in the bottom of the fourth with the bases loaded and no outs. Lower Lake did score twice in the inning to cut Kelseyville”s lead to 4-2, but that was the only offense the Trojans could muster.

“He shut them down,” Kelseyville coach Scott Conrad said of Perez, who also went 1-for-3 with a RBI at the plate.

Perez allowed just two hits during his four innings on the mound, striking out six and walking only one.

Kelseyville (6-5 league, 8-6 overall) scored three times in the top of the first inning and once in the second to build a 4-0 lead.

Jonathan Smith went 1-for-3 with a RBI for the Knights, who play Tuesday in Lakeport.
