LAKEPORT — The stolen full-size tricycle that a 73-year-old Lakeport woman said is her only means of transportation was returned to her Wednesday.

Mary Dippolito said the tricycle was taken in the night on Mother”s Day. It sat in the carport outside her mobile home at Clearlake Marina Mobile Home Park on South Main Street in Lakeport.

The Record-Bee first reported the incident on its website Tuesday at approximately 3:45 p.m.

The tricycle, described as a royal blue Schwinn model with a black basket between the rear wheels, was found Tuesday evening allegedly near a creek in Kelseyville at approximately 9:45 p.m., according to Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen.

Rasmussen said Dippolito was contacted Tuesday night by a person, who was not identified, who said they found her tricycle. Dippolito then contacted the Lakeport Police Department (LPD) to inform them it was found.

Rasmussen said the person brought the tricycle to the LPD and Dippolito picked it up Wednesday around noon.
