KELSEYVILLE — Jordan Willcutt allowed an infield single to Stacy Ogden but otherwise was a mystery to the Kelseyville Knights in a 3-0 Willits softball win on Thursday afternoon in Kelseyville.
It was the North Central League I finale for both teams. Willits (6-8) clinches fifth place in the league standings with the win while Kelseyville (5-9) ends up sixth. The Knights were 8-11 overall.
“I wish we could have ended on a better note,” Kelseyville coach Taryn Kysely said.
Losing pitcher Sabrina Lyon allowed two runs in the fourth inning and another in the fifth. She struck out five and walked one.
Ogden”s leadoff single came in the bottom of the fifth.
Kelseyville had a handful of scoring opportunities thanks in large part to five Willcutt walks but couldn”t capitalize.
“We hit a couple of balls hard, but right at people,” Kysely said. “We had a couple of chances and it just didn”t happen.”
