So, President Obama has evolved and now believes that gay people should be allowed to get married just like every other person in the world.
Well, good for him. Of course if you are a conservative you totally disagree. Conservatives have been disagreeing with every new idea since time began.
The earth is flat and the universe revolved around it and to say any different is hearsay. If women have dresses so short that it shows their ankles or heaven forbid their knees, well then they are just asking to be raped and murdered. Allow women to vote? Good heavens, no. They shouldn”t be troubling their pretty little heads about something as complicated as politics. How on earth could they possibly understand them?
Allow black men to vote? Nonsense, of course not. Having colored skin is the mark of Cain, God”s punishment.
They were never intended to be equal with white folks. Allow working people the right to form a union and strike for better wages and working conditions?
No, no, a hundred times no. That will just cause the rabble to rise up against their masters. A small organism too small to be seen by the human eye causes disease and death and doctors should change their aprons and wash their hands between patients?
What total nonsense, just crazy thinking. Children should all go to school? Why do they need an education to work 12 to 14 hours a day in a factory?
Pass child labor laws, my goodness what will they think of next? That would just mollycoddle the kids and all the factories would go bankrupt.
If you are a conservative, you raise conservative and they raise their children to be conservative, then 30 or 40 years from now your grandchildren will be doing things every day that will make your hair stand on end.
It will be the norm for them but there will be new ideas that they will be dead set against and will fight tooth and nail to stop happening. Everything in this world changes and evolves except the conservative mindset.
