LOWER LAKE — The fourth annual Lake Renaissance Festival welcomes returning entertainer Capt”n Jack Spareribs to this year”s lineup of performers.

The festival will be held May 26 and 27 at the Tuscan Village, located at 16175 Main St. in Lower Lake.

Spareribs is a pirate entertainer, magician, juggler, ventriloquist, comedian and Jack Sparrow look-alike parody.

This pirate not only wields a sword but also juggles torches and knives, cannonballs and clubs, while overseeing a crew of miscreants that includes a talking monkey.

Some of Spareribs” skills involve lying on a bed of nails, eating fire, swallowing swords and razor blades, unicycle riding, stilt and rope walking and escaping from straightjackets.

Spareribs has been seen in numerous television spots and commercials for companies like Toyota and appearances on the Disney Channel, Mornings on 2 and the A&E network”s Good Time Cafe with Ellen DeGeneres.

Spareribs said he has spent countless hours of practice developing his skills. He performs at hundreds of pirate parties and events through out Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Reno and Tahoe areas each year and will perform two shows daily at the Lake Renaissance Festival.

Tickets cost $7 at the gate or $5 with a $2-off coupon, available at the Tuscan Village Used Bookstore, 16175 Main St. in Lower Lake. Children younger than 12 get in free. For more information visit the Facebook site at Lake Renaissance Festival.
