MIDDLETOWN — Kelseyville senior Devon Call blasted two of the Knights” four home runs during a 9-2 victory Friday afternoon against the Middletown Mustangs.

Call had a two-run homer in the first inning and put the game out of reach with a grand slam in the third. He went 3-for-4 with six RBIs for the game.

Jake Peters and Max Huff added back-to-back solo shots in the seventh inning for the visiting Knights (11-3 in North Coast League I play, 12-7 overall). Kelseyville, which ranked second in the league, is set to participate the section playoffs.

The same can”t be said of the team they beat Friday.

The Mustangs” season ended with a tough loss that saw them muster only four hits. Both Middletown runs came in the fifth inning.

Sophomore Brad Bologna went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Senior Luke Humphrey had an RBI single.

Senior Kyle Brown took the loss for Middletown. He gave up seven runs (five earned) in three innings. Junior Logan Smith pitched well during four innings in relief.

Peters earned the win for Kelseyville, giving up two runs in 4 2/3 innings. Junior Camilo Diaz didn”t give up a hit in 2 1/3 innings in relief.

The loss dropped Middletown to 6-8 in league and 10-14 overall.
