LAKE COUNTY — The original charges for escaped inmate Roger Daniel Vigil, 49 of Clearlake were disclosed to Lake County Publishing staff Monday.
According to Sgt. Steve Brooks of the Lake County Sheriff”s Office, Vigil was arrested Jan. 12 and charged with possessing a controlled substance. Vigil also had two felony bench warrants for transporting a controlled substance and for burglary, Brooks said.
Vigil was assigned to minimum custody and working on the grounds outside the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility April 23 when he walked away from custody.
“We”re still looking for him,” Brooks said. “It”s an ongoing investigation.”
Vigil is described as a Hispanic man 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 155 pounds. He has brown eyes and at the time of his escape his head was shaved. He was last seen wearing a blue county jail shirt and blue jeans.
Vigil has a number of tattoos, including one of Mickey Mouse on his left arm, one of Jesus on his right arm, one of a peacock on his back and another of a peacock on his right arm.
