One more scam to come my way, but I did not bite.

I have had two calls from people saying that my computer has reported a problem to them and they are responding to that notification. But my computer and your computer just don”t do that.

They say they are an Internet Protocol Service Center.

As a scare tactic, they tell me that my computer is at high risk being infected from the Internet, a firewall problem and they can fix it.

During each call I have quizzed the person as to how he had my phone number, where his office is located and then I say that I am busy and need to call them back. Both callers told me they are not allowed to give out a call-back phone number.

On the last call, I did get a company name, Windows Service Center, and the person said the office was in North Carolina.

Such calls are a part of a worldwide scam. Do not give anyone any access information to allow anyone to get into your computer system and do not give out any personal information or consider using any service that is offered for which you have not made the initial contact.

If you are having a problem with your computer, call local trusted service.

To learn more about this scam, use Google and search for Windows Service Center. Don”t get taken.
