LAKE COUNTY — Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS) offers a workshop next month for concerned parents or caregivers of Lake County youth next.
The workshop is for parents or caregivers concerned about the use of alcohol and other drugs in the community. Information will be presented on the effects of substance use in the community and how to prevent substance use for the county”s youth.
The workshop will be held twice.
The first session is set for June 4 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the AODS office in Clearlake at 7000 B South Center Drive. The second session will be June 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 845 Bevins St. in Lakeport.
Later in June, AODS is offering the Responsible Beverage Service Training for special events.
The training is geared toward organizations or businesses that have a special event, one-day license to sell or pour alcohol. It is free and will focus on Alcoholic Beverage Control laws, risk management, legal liabilities and server techniques.
The training will be held on June 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at the El Grande Inn, 15135 Lakeshore Blvd. in Clearlake. The registration deadline is June 8. There are 30 spots available.
