LOWER LAKE — An Oakland man received minor injuries when his pickup rolled over several times near Twin Lakes Friday morning after he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel.
The incident occurred when Rafael Pena Gomez, 38, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet pickup northbound on Highway 29 north of C Street in Lower Lake at about 6:30 a.m., according to a California Highway Patrol (CHP) statement.
While traveling at approximately 65 mph, the pickup drifted onto the right shoulder, hit a guardrail and then rolled several times, the CHP stated.
Gomez, who wore a seat belt at the time, said he fell asleep while driving, according to the CHP.
He was treated for minor injuries at St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake, the CHP stated.
