HIT: The Lakeport City Council held a workshop Tuesday on the recommended 2012-13 budget, which proposed about $4.5 million in expenditures and anticipated the same amount in revenues. The adoption discussion is tentatively set for June 19.

HIT: Kelseyville High School (KHS) deserves appreciation for warning residents well in advance about a fireworks display on or about 9:20 p.m. June 15 at the KHS football field. “This activity has been a tradition since 2000. The actual display will take place over a five minute period but residents are advised to take the necessary precautions with pets that might be sensitive to the noise.”
MISS: Without any advance notice through the Lake County media, Middletown High School set off its loud fireworks on Friday mere blocks from residential neighborhoods. Because it failed to inform the community, residents were unable to take advance precautions about confining their pets

HIT: The Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce scheduled an annual luau event with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Lake County Youth Center Restoration Project.

HIT: A Plan line study under way to improve a project to extend Dam Road Extension. The purpose of the project is to improve north/south connectivity on the east side of Highway 53.
