LOWER LAKE — Response was dispatched at 3:50 a.m. Friday to the 10100 block of Bell Circle in the Bell Park Subdivision in Lower Lake following a report of a structure fire. The blaze destroyed a doublewide mobile home and scorched about a half-acre of surrounding vegetation.

Damage was estimated at $50,000 to $60,000.

Lake County Fire Protection District (LCFPD) Chief Willie Sapeta said the mobile home was fully-involved upon arrival of the first unit at 4 a.m. “It was ripping,” Sapeta said.

Sapeta said suppression and cleanup were extensive with the fire considered contained at about 5:45 a.m. and the last unit leaving the scene more than four hours later. “It was a long fire ? doublewide mobile home with out buildings,” he said.

Sapeta said there additional complications associated with the incident. “There was a little bit of an access problem and tons of debris,” he said. “So, it was an extensive overhaul. Our last unit left the scene around 10 a.m.”

LCFPD responded with its chief, a battalion chief, three engines, a water tender and two medical units. CAL FIRE, South Lake County Fire Protection District and Kelseyville Fire Protection District provided mutual aid. CAL FIRE responded with a battalion chief and three engines; Kelseyville responded with water tender as did South Lake.

Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
