UKIAH — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) released information Friday about a rollover involving a logging truck earlier in the week along Highway 253.
Ned Hatfield, 72, of Willits drove the big rig with a full load of logs at about 20 to 25 mph Wednesday afternoon when the truck entered a sharp downhill turn and the rear trailer began to tip, the CHP stated.
The entire 1991 Peterbilt truck overturned and lost its logs onto the highway. Hatfield sustained minor injuries. The ensuing cleanup closed the roadway off and on for about four hours.
