LAKEPORT — The Ladies of the Lake Quilt Guild (LLQG) invites entries for its 11th annual Falling Leaves Quilt Show.

The LLQG is inviting entries now to give quilters time to complete works in progress before the October show.

The deadline to submit entry forms and photographs of the quilts is July 27. Entry forms, instructions and details are available from the LLQG website at www.llqg.org or contact Marj Sweeney at 994-1186 orpatchworkjunction@live.com.

Quilters may choose to have their quilts judged for a small fee, or to enter quilts for free without judging. Many quilters find it beneficial to have their quilts judged, learning much from an impartial evaluation.

The judge will award ribbons for first, second and third places; Judge”s Choice; and Best of Show. In a new feature for the quilt show, the Viewers” Choice quilt will receive $50.

The quilts must be delivered, ready to hang, to the Lake County Fairgrounds on Oct. 4.

Show organizers expect to display more than 200 quilts in this show, which will be held at the Lake County Fairgrounds Oct. 6 to 7.

Among the quilt show”s other attractions will be featured quilter Rami Kim and some of her works, vendors, prize drawings, a silent auction and the Country Store boutique.

Each year the Falling Leaves Quilt Show draws quilts and quilt lovers from much of northern California.

In past years, crowds of 600 people have traveled from as far away as Eureka, Chico and San Jose to see the 200 quilts arrayed throughout the venue.

LLQG welcomes all quilters, prospective quilters and quilt lovers to its meetings and events.
