LAKE COUNTY — Public Services Director Caroline Chavez commended county tribes on Monday for financial contributions to parks during the current fiscal year.

“With the tribes” generous donation, the county”s parks were maintained on a level the county prefers to uphold, keeping safety, aesthetics and recreational amenities sustained,” Chavez said in a statement.

The department reported receiving $152,382.25 from three separate allocations of casino mitigation funding for 2011-12.

Nearly $55,000 came with the support of Robinson Rancheria Pomo Indians to mitigate the impacts of Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino.

The Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians supported distributing about $62,300 to mitigate the impacts of Konocti Vista Casino in the Big Valley area.

Roughly another $35,120 came from Konocti Vista Casino to mitigate South County impacts — an allocation supported by the Big Valley tribe and the Middletown Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians.
