LAKEPORT — City police and state beverage-control officials conducted decoy operations during which adults refused to buy or sell underage people alcohol Friday night in Lakeport.

The decoys contacted seven adults at three different locations and asked the adults to purchase alcohol on their behalf. The Lakeport Police Department (LPD) reported none of the people bought alcohol for the decoys.

Additionally, decoys attempted to buy alcohol directly from six city businesses licensed by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), but all establishments refused to serve the underage people, the LPD stated.

LPD and ABC officials conducted the operations, which were part of the state”s Minor Decoy/Shoulder Tap Grant Project funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
