CLEARLAKE OAKS — Lake County Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS) in collaboration with the California Friday Night Live Partnership (CFNLP) will facilitate a youth leadership conference. The conference is free to students enrolled in a local High School or high school age youth who are home schooled or in alternative education for the 2012-2013 school year.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 30 at the High Valley Ranch in Clearlake Oaks. The youth will participate in numerous activities and leadership training from CFNLP.

The mission of Friday Night Live (FNL) chapters is to build partnerships for positive and healthy youth development, which engages youth as active leaders and resources within their communities. The FNL program operates on the guiding principles that every chapter is to be youth centered and directed, support young people in developing life and/or leadership skills, provide a safe, healthy and fun environment, provide youth access to life experiences that are otherwise unavailable and/or unaffordable and build positive relationships between youth, their schools and communities.

Parents or guardians of a high school student for the 2012-2013 school year are invited to contact Carrie White or Jim Gessner at 994-6494 or email a request, to Carrie.White@lakecountyca.gov or Jim.Gessner@lakecountyca.gov.
