LAKEPORT — Authorities in Sonoma County Saturday located a man who allegedly escaped from custody the night before in Lakeport after being detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

Raymond Richard Casillas, 22, of Lakeport was booked into the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility late Saturday night on charges of attempted murder, escaping police custody, parole violation and two firearm counts.

The charges stemmed from an incident Friday evening during which Casillas allegedly tried to shoot someone several times during a fight reportedly involving about 10 people in the area of Central Park Avenue and Shady Oak Street in Lakeport.

“The victim was able to push the firearm away and escaped unharmed,” Lakeport Police Chief Brad Rasmussen said in a statement Friday.

Investigating officers found a loaded modified rifle and other potential evidence in a Central Park Avenue home on Friday, Rasmussen added.

While the investigation was ongoing Friday night, Casillas escaped from a Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) car, according to the police chief.

A short time later, law enforcement arrested a Lakeport woman who allegedly helped in the escape. Dana Rochelle Hueners, 21, was booked into the county jail on charges of accessory to a felony and aiding an escape.

Casillas remained at large until Saturday evening, when Sonoma County Sheriff”s Office personnel found him at a home in Windsor after receiving a tip, Lakeport Police Sgt. Dale Stoebe said in a statement during the weekend.

Casillas was taken into custody and later transported to Lake County. He is due in court Tuesday, according to the LCSO website.
