LAKEPORT — A Lake County judge Monday postponed the attempted murder trial of a Kelseyville man accused of attacking his estranged wife and shooting another man last year.

Andrew James Serrano, 39, has pleaded not guilty to 10 felonies and four misdemeanors in a consolidated case of charges related to an alleged series of harassment during spring and summer 2011.

The most serious counts stem from a September incident during which authorities allege Serrano beat his estranged wife, Lesa Serrano, and shot another man, William Turner, who accompanied the woman as she retrieved belongings from the former family home in Kelseyville.

Seven felonies, including attempted murder, relate to the shooting.

Serrano is also accused of causing a hit-and-run involving his estranged wife in July and making harassing phone calls to the woman in May 2011.

Serrano”s trial was set for next month, but the defense filed a motion asking for a continuance.

Judge David W. Herrick found good cause to postpone the trial Monday afternoon at the Lake County Courthouse. It is now set to begin Jan. 30.

Serrano, who remains in custody at the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, will next appear in court on Oct. 23 for further proceedings in the case.
