CLEARLAKE OAKS — Deputies responded to Clearlake Oaks for a report of a battery, which resulted in one arrest and several felony charges, according to Sgt. Steve Brooks, Lake County Sheriff”s Office (LCSO) public information officer.

On Thursday at 2:09 p.m. LCSO deputies responded to the area of 9900 Highway 20 in Clearlake Oaks for a report of a battery.

Upon arrival deputies contacted the victim who reported that Angela Carol Sanchez, 47, of Clearlake Oaks, struck her in the back of the head. The victim asked that Sanchez be arrested for battery and signed a private persons arrest form.

Deputies contacted Sanchez in front of her home, which is in close proximity to the victim”s home. As deputies went to take Sanchez into custody, deputies alleged that she violently resisted and attempted to remove the arresting deputy”s firearm from its holster.

After Sanchez was placed in handcuffs, LCSO stated she continued to resist by lunging head first and spitting at the deputies.

Sanchez was arrested for attempting to remove a firearm from a peace officer, battery on a peace officer, obstruct / resist a peace officer and battery on a person.

While being transported to the Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, Sanchez allegedly attempted to break the window out of the patrol vehicle by kicking it and causing damage.

Upon Sanchez”s arrival to the facility, she was also charged with vandalizing the patrol vehicle.
