LAKEPORT — The Lake County Board of Supervisors (BOS) Tuesday directed county staff to bring back additional information about two proposed sales tax measures for the November ballot.

One countywide sales tax would go toward road improvements and the other would fund lake-related activities such as algae and weed abatement and the invasive species prevention program.

The BOS did not specify a percentage for either proposed tax.

Scott De Leon, director of the county”s public works and water resources departments, said staff would compile information for sales taxes of 0.25 percent, 0.5 percent and 0.75 percent for both potential measures.

In part, the BOS wanted to know how the departments might use the funding.

A discussion on the sales tax proposals is tentatively set for the July 10 BOS meeting.
