CLEARLAKE — Clearlake Police Department (CPD) is investigating a series of vehicle thefts that occurred in the past few days. Lt. Tim Celli said Thursday three vehicles were stolen in a 24-hour period with related circumstances.
Keys were left in the vehicles and the owners were nearby. The vehicles were recovered by police short distances from where they were stolen and personal items were taken from the vehicles.
The suspect is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic man with brown hair, approximately 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing about 140 to 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing denim, knee-length shorts, black T-shirt and a dark blue or black hat similar to a Los Angeles (LA) Dodgers hat.
The suspect was last seen in the area of Laddell Avenue near West 40th Street.
Celli reminds citizens not to leave vehicles idling unattended or to leave keys or other valuables inside unlocked vehicles. Always secure vehicles.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the CPD at 994-8251.
