This letter addresses a political cartoon that ran last week. It showed Mitt Romney as a money-chomping glutton. While I am not thrilled by either of the presumptive Presidential candidates, I found the cartoon to be misleading and juvenile. While I also have some strong opinions at times I prefer to digest some facts with my opinions.

Romney had the intelligence and motivation to attend both Harvard Business and Harvard Law simultaneously, earning an MBA and a J.D. He co-founded a business and made a lot of money. That sounds like the American Dream. We”re headed the wrong direction if we demonize success out of envy. Looking at Romney”s gluttonous avarice: He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity unpaid as a campaign worker for his father for one year, unpaid intern in his father”s governor”s office for eight years, unpaid bishop and stake president of his church for 10 years, unpaid president of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years, unpaid (he took no salary) Governor of Massachusetts for four years and in 2010 he gave $2.9 million and in 2011 he gave $4 million to charity.

Perhaps we need more greed like that. People say that big oil bought the Bush administration and big banks bought the Obama administration. Romney can pay his own admission.
