CLEAR LAKE OAKS — On Friday night, Shannon “Ace” Nailor, radio host of The Checkered Flag Talk Show and Pacific Rampage Wrestling announcer and event promoter, hosted the first episode of “It”s Your Show,” a new talk show to be shown on Lake County Channel 8 that features talented individuals in the community.

The initial show”s production featured scenes from the upcoming play “The Floating Door” and interviews with writer/director Jesse Harrell and John Tomlinson, producer of New Vintage Productions.

A “roast” of Tomlinson was also filmed and will air directly following the premier of “It”s Your Show.”

“It”s Your Show” is scheduled to air bi-weekly and will be recorded at the Moose Lodge in Clearlake Oaks. Audiences may attend recordings for a small fee.

Nailor, show host and creator, said he wants to use the show to highlight the talents and achievements of members of the community in hopes of getting them noticed.

“I decided to do this for the community because a lot of people have hidden talents they are afraid to show,” he said. “This isn”t an audition; this is a place for people to share their talents. I”ve had a lot of breaks, and I want to make that happen for someone else.”

Local musicians will be playing on the show under the name of Adam and Your Band, named after the drummer, Adam Painchaud.

During the interview with Tomlinson, Nailor discusses Tomlinson”s acting career, which started with a small part in Shakespeare”s “Much Ado About Nothing” in college. Tomlinson recently starred in “Mindgame,” a “psycho-drama,” as Tomlinson refers to it, by Anthony Horowitz.

However, a much different side of Tomlinson was revealed during the filming of the “roast.” Though many harsh jokes were made at Tomlinson”s expense, all members of the roasting committee were people Tomlinson has interacted with on a personal level in his life.

Tomlinson was roasted by Nailor, Harrell, Tomlinson”s long-term girlfriend Barbara Clark, New Vintage Productions” new managing director Cindy Strong, cast member Joshua Blair and Clearlake Mayor Joey Luiz, among others.

“John has been a good friend for many years,” Luiz said. “He is one of the largest contributors of the theatrical community in Lake County.”

Tomlinson had many choice words for the roasting community that night, none of which can be printed.
