LAKE COUNTY — Tickets are on sale for the Lake County Theatre Company production of “Congress, You”re Fired!,” written and directed by Suna Flores.
According to Flores, the basic theme for “Congress, You”re Fired!” was conceived early in 2012. “Every news cycle made it clear that Congress was having trouble getting things done in Washington,” Flores said. “Someone joked about Congress turning into a reality TV show and the script for ?Congress” began to almost write itself. Our production includes back room deals, idiot behavior and great pronouncements of patriotism. It”s just like regular Congress only funnier.”
Performances take place at 7 p.m. July 27, 5:30 p.m. with a dinner show July 28 and 2 p.m. July 29 at the Clearlake Oaks Moose Lodge. During the following week, the show will take place at 7 p.m. Aug. 3, 5:30 p.m. with a dinner show Aug. 4 and 2 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Lakeport Senior Activity Center.
Tickets are on sale at the Shannon Ridge Tasting Room, 998-9656, the Live Oak Senior Center, 998-1950 and the Moose Lodge, 998-3740, in Clearlake Oaks; and at Watershed Books, 263-5787, the Meals on Wheels Thrift Store, 263-6174 and the Lakeport Senior Activity Center, 263-4218, in Lakeport.
Tickets can be purchased at the door but Flores said that the tri-tip meals to be served during dinner shows should be reserved in advance.
