HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE — Several opportunities for youth recreation are available in the Hidden Valley Lake area this summer.
In addition to the establishment of a youth center at the Hidden Valley Lake Country Club by the Hidden Valley Lake Association (HVLA), a selection of camps and other recreational activities are scheduled.
Teen swim nights take place from 9 to 10 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month for children 13 years of age and older. Swim nights at the country club pool include music, games, food and supervision, free of charge.
Family swim nights take place from 9 to 10 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at the country club pool, free of charge.
Junior craft classes take place Wednesdays and Fridays at the youth center. The suggested age range is from 7 to 13. Registration is required and costs $5. Sign-ups are taken at the country club pool.
Movie nights take place on the last Saturday of the month at the Hidden Valley Lake Administration Office. Participation is restricted to children ages 5 to 12. Attendance is free; however, pre-registration is required.
An adventure camp for children ages 8 to 13 takes place from 9 a.m. to noon, July 23 through 27. The camp features various activities including crafts, a scavenger hunt, fire education, tennis and golf lessons, horseback riding, volleyball, a castle building contest and more. The registration fee is $75.
A volleyball camp for children ages 8 to 13 takes place from 9 to 10 a.m. July 23 through 26 at Big Beach in Hidden Valley Lake. Registration, which is required, costs $30.
A teen tennis camp takes place July 23 through 27. Registration is required and costs $45.
Junior golf camp takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. July 10 and 11 and Aug. 7 and 8. Suggested age limit is from 8 to 18. Registration costs $40. Pre-registration in the pro shop is required.
“All About Horses” camp takes place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and July 23 through 27 at the equestrian center. Registration, which is required, costs $40. For more information call the equestrian center at 987-4075.
Free “Concerts on the Green” take place from 5 to 8 p.m. July 20 and Aug. 24 behind the Greenview Restaurant. Events feature a farmers” market, wine tasting, food and dancing.
